Schuylkill River Trail Bridge Mural & Bike Art Installation

Brush With the Law collaborated with Expressive Path on a public art project along the Schuylkill River Trail near the Norristown SEPTA station. The project combined bike-inspired bridge imagery, colorful wheel sculptures, and stepping stones to celebrate movement, trail use, and community connection along this busy Montgomery County pathway.
About The Project
The project was made possible by the Montgomery County Office of Public Health in partnership with the Montgomery County Planning Commission and Montgomery County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites. Supported through the Pennsylvania Department of Health Safe and Healthy Communities grant, the work was part of a broader effort to enhance community engagement, promote trail safety, and support traffic-calming measures in shared public spaces.

Bridge Mural
For the bridge mural, artist Maria Maneos designed bold black-and-white symbols inspired by bicycles, bike parts, riding, motion, and the visual rhythm of the trail. The imagery was created to bring energy to the bridge while connecting the artwork directly to the experience of moving through the space by bike or on foot.
Bike Wheel Sculptures

Bike Wheel Sculptures & Stepping Stones
In addition to the bridge mural, the project included colorful bike wheel sculptures and stepping stones created in collaboration with Expressive Path. Installed along the fence line near the trail, the wheel pieces extended the movement-inspired theme beyond the bridge and added bright, playful visual markers for people walking, biking, and passing through the area.
The sculptural elements used recycled bicycle parts, bold color, and circular forms to echo the rhythm of riding and the motion of the trail. Brush With the Law contributed to the overall layout and visual placement, helping connect the sculptures, stepping stones, and bridge artwork into one cohesive public art experience.
