We accomplished our first community arts project outside of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where we gave both currently incarcerated and recently released inmates the opportunity to make positive contributions to the community. Our first approved project is a mural, where prison inmates of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility enrolled in the Brush With the Law program, past students of the program now released, probation/parolees, officers of the Norristown Police Department, and local business owners worked together on the approved mural that is now displayed in the Norristown Police Department’s newly renovated Roll Call room. The mural was dedicated to Norristown’s first female officer, Lt. Patty Simons who died from cancer in 2007.
